The Malaysian Open Budget Index (MyOBI) measures state government transparency regarding budget information. MyOBI also measures oversight of the budget by the state assembly (Dewan Undangan Negeri). These benchmarks are adapted from the globally accepted criteria of the International Budget Partnership’s initiative named the Open Budget Survey (OBS).
As a citizen, you have the right to be informed about how your money is spent, and to demand stronger oversight by independent institutions.
